The good news is, Caleb Finck is back! He’s running for Legislature again!
The bad news is, the good Republican minion is not taking on Stace Nelson again. He’s not even in District 19. According to the Secretary of State’s candidate list, Finck has hopped the border to live in Tripp and run for District 21 House alongside Majority Leader Lee Qualm. The other District 21 House incumbent is Julie Bartling, but she’s running for the Senate seat Billie Sutton is leaving open as he runs for Governor.
To achieve this district flip, Finck has moved south two miles, from 29248 410th Ave Tripp, the address he listed on his 2016 petition, to 40976 294th St Tripp:
Finck and Qualm face two Democratic challengers. Brian L. Jorgensen and Anna Kerner Anderson have both filed for House, making District 21 the first two-seat district with a full House slate of filed Democratic contenders. Finck’s Democratic opponents will be able to point to the above map and say, quite factually, that Finck is a fringe candidate.
This kid will stop at nothing to try to get elected. He’s back interning in Pierre again this year.
What, exactly, is this healthy young fellow doing “interning in Pierre” and for whom does he do it? What skills does he bring or is he just there for the free food and to meet young ladies?
What exactly does Rural Communities and Local Schools mean exactly? Are those even positions on issues?
I definitely should be way more vague in the future
Does he need more food?
I don’t know how hungry Caleb may be, Nick, but he’ll get plenty of free food in Pierre if he wins District 21!
Now you’re catching on, Greg! Republicans don’t win on detailed discussions of substantive issues. They win on one- or two-word blurps that activate the salivary glands. You should counterprogram in District 17 with a card promoting Libertarian values:
Since I’m only 52% Libertarian, you should probably consult with you rparty communications director to refine that list. :-D
