Rep. Kristi Noem tweeted on May 18 that she’s “excited to start working with @IvankaTrump on efforts to end human trafficking. We must take action.”

Hmm… can Ivanka appoint the U.S. Attorneys we need to spearhead the investigations and prosecutions of human traffickers, and the judges we need to sentence those traffickers? Ivanka’s dad can, but hasn’t:
Trump still has to fill senior Department of Justice roles and the 93 U.S. attorney posts around the country—a task complicated by his decision, in March, to demand the immediate resignation of all remaining Obama-era appointees without a bench of replacements ready to go. Scores of seats on the federal bench also remain open [Josh Gerstein, “Russia Scandal Ices Government Lawyer Hiring,” Politico, 2017.05.28].
We know, Kristi, that human trafficking is a convenient (and colonialist?) cause for you and your fellow Christian conservatives. But maybe the next time you get to sit down with Il Duce‘s daughter, you could tell her to do something pretty simple and straightforward to address the problem, like hiring the law enforcement leaders we need to bust human traffickers.
ROFL – Kristi Noem is commited to bridging the gap between city and rural people and cultures by leveraging lunch meetings with Ivanka Trump’s people. She could never get a private lunch with Ivanka, but she’s really trying hard with this human trafficking thing!
They don’t share the caviar sandwiches with just anyone (let alone country girls who don’t plan on sticking around DC very long).
Adam, let’s test Noem and Trump’s ability to bridge gaps. Kristi should invite Ivanka to come to Sturgis to hold a press conference on human trafficking. Come mix with the regular folks, bring their important message to some of the folks who need to hear it most.
I just can’t imagine Ivanka would ever want to be seen partnering with particularly Kristi on anything. In about 8 months, Kristi Noem will go into 100% campaign mode and nearly cease her activity in the U.S. House – which gives her about 8 months to make friends with somebody ALL the Republicans are sucking up too for numerous reasons right now.
Sure, I challenge Kristi to one day help bridge a gap – just one gap – any gap at all – while she’s in DC.
