SB 69 & 177 Petitioners at Benson’s Flea Market, Aberdeen Big Boy Toy Show This Weekend!

The petition drive to refer Senate Bill 69 and Senate Bill 177 continues with circulators across the state working events and going door to door looking for your support to protect your voice and your vote from the Legislature’s predations.

If you’re out and about, you can catch circulators at locations in Sioux Falls and Aberdeen this weekend. In Sioux Falls, Ellee Spawn and Shirley Moore will have a petition booth at Benson’s Flea Market at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds. That’s today 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and tomorrow (Sunday) 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Meanwhile, here in Aberdeen, I’ll be at the Hub City Spring Big Boy Toy Show at the Expo Building on the Brown County Fairgrounds on the north side of Aberdeen. Petitions will be available today from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Drop by either event, find out how Senate Bill 69 and Senate Bill 177 both affront your right to vote, and sign our petitions to give South Dakotans a vote on these two important bills in the November 2016 election!

And circulators, if you’re working any big events this weekend or in the upcoming weeks, let us know in the comment section!

I have been circulating both petitions, albeit at a rather relaxed rate. I committed to getting 40 signatures on each, and I’m there already, and I will get more. However, for anyone who wants to get some signatures, here are some suggestions.

You can get a bunch in a few hours at any college campus. You can get several in a few minutes at any bar at happy hour, although the level of discourse deteriorates fairly quickly.
