Rubio tells him, you will get these men, but there is an obstacle. Some of these MS-13 members were informants to the United States government in a ongoing Justice Department investigation into MS-13. Rubio then says that the president is going to get Attorney General Pam Bondi to nix the informant relationship that exists with those men and remove the protective status that they enjoyed and then send them to El Salvador.

You know, it imperils U.S. informants, people who were providing information to the Justice Department. And Trump’s betraying American beef farmers to give further aid and comfort to his comrade the beleaguered president of Argentina:
Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins confirmed on CNBC today that the Trump administration intends to strike a deal with Argentina to bring beef into the U.S.
…Her comments came after President Donald Trump set off a firestorm on Capitol Hill this week, when he told an Associated Press reporter the U.S. might import beef from Argentina to bring down prices. A wide range of farm groups—including the National Farmers Union, Farm Action, the National Cattleman’s Beef Association, and the American Farm Bureau Federation—quickly sent out strongly worded statements opposing the idea.
Many of those groups were especially incensed by the timing of the comment. The White House last week announced a $40 billion bailout for Argentina at a time when the country is also benefiting from new soybean sales to China, prompted by Trump tariffs driving China’s purchases away from U.S. farms.
“After crashing the soybean market and gifting Argentina our largest export buyer, he’s now poised to do the same to the cattle market,” Christian Lovell, an Illinois cattle producer and Farm Action’s Senior Director of Programs, said in a statement. “Importing Argentinian beef would send U.S. cattle prices plummeting—and with the meatpacking industry as consolidated as it is, consumers may not see lower beef prices either. “Washington should be focused on fixing our broken cattle market, not rewarding foreign competitors.”
According to Politico, Republican senators also rushed to reach Trump, while some held a meeting with Rollins on the topic. “I strongly encourage the Trump administration to focus on trade deals that benefit our ag producers—not imports that will do more harm than good,” Senator Deb Fischer (R-Nebraska), a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, said in a statement [Lisa Held, “Agriculture Secretary Confirms US Plan to Buy Beef from Argentina,” Civil Eats, 2025.10.21].
South Dakota beef producers feel betrayed:
“A lot of cattle (producers) support President Trump and this feels like a gut punch,” said Craig Bieber, a rancher in McPherson County. Bieber is also the vice president of the South Dakota Cattlemen’s Association.
“It’s disappointing to me because we finally got cattle market where we are finally making money,” said Wade Christensen, a cattle producer from the Kimball area. Christensen and his wife Christy are part owners of the Kimball Livestock Exchange.
