Brown County Democrats Picnic Sunday 1 p.m.

I had a lot of fun speaking with voters at Thursday’s ballot question forum in Sioux Falls. But tomorrow, I get to talk and eat!

We Brown County Democrats are holding a fundraising picnic tomorrow (Sunday!) at 1 p.m. at Centennial Village in the Brown County Fairgrounds. All three of our statewide candidates—Jay Williams, Paula Hawks, Henry Red Cloud—have been invited to attend. We local candidates will be there, too. Come get some chicken and talk to some candidates who aren’t.

DR- the Republicans typically hold $250-$1,000 per couple soirees and you are complaining about a $10 fundraiser for Democrats with a side dish request? Makes perfect sense, like when Trump calls HRC a Birther.

have a good day dems! tonight we’ll be at the Journey in RC watching the non-censored “Who shall we Invade Next”, Michael moore’s new expose/ commentary on this years political season.

    its free.

We’ll be talking about trump “policy”. Tsitrian, ever the lovable republican, mentioned in his blog:

“USDA’s Economic Research Service calculates that for every five dollars spent on SNAP benefits, nine dollars of economic activity is created. When the subject of splitting SNAP away from the Farm Bill came up in 2012, more than 500 farm groups, including the American Farm Bureau Federation, opposed the idea.

…Forbes Magazine contributor Beth Hoffman wrote that it is “critical to continue support of the program.” Eighty percent of its recipients are children, disabled adults and elderly.

Donald Trump said… that 43 million Americans are using food stamps….

the program represents an infinitesimal portion of our country’s wealth. Consuming $75 billion out of a federal budget of nearly $4 trillion, SNAP spending peaked at a half-of-1 percent of GDP in 2012. It has since fallen to .4 percent and is projected by the Congressional Budget Office to return to its 1995 level of .3 percent within a decade.” http://theconstantcommoner.blogspot.com/2016/09/my-column-in-todays-rapid-city-journal_14.html
