South Dakota No Longer On Meth™

Things just don’t last like they used to. Governor Kristi Noem paid Minneapolis advertiser Broadhead $1.375 million to come up with great anti-meth commercials, and now less than three months later, she’s striking the primary branding from the campaign:

Two ads launched last week. Both include a 6-second silent video, with very little reference to “Meth. We’re on It.”

On the first ad, the text says “Get resources to help make sense of a loved one’s addiction and focus on ways to make a change” and the video says, “Support for the one you love.” The ad is displaying on Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and the Facebook Ad Network, according to Facebook Ad Library.

A second ad doesn’t include the actress in the original campaign. It is just text and graphics. The video and post have the same text as the first ad.

The only reference in both ads to the original wording is the website URL: onmeth.com. The website has also had a subtle, but significant change. The “Meth. We’re on it.” logo was removed from the upper left corner of the site, according to a November 2019 Internet Archive snapshot [Michael Geheren, “Gov. Noem’s Meth Awareness Campaign Shifts Message,” KELO-TV, 2020.02.10].

Rebranding. We're On It.™
Your tax dollars no longer at work….

I guess we’re not on meth anymore. Or at least, “We’re On Meth™” isn’t on OnMeth.com anymore. Or maybe Governor Noem just got tired of Kessler’s freeloading on the state’s branding.

I think that the Arnold brothers should pay back the state 1.4 million from
the corporate welfare checks that they received from Donny T.
Because guilt by association means that
The Dope Queen of delusion misused our state funds for fluff.
1.4 million dollars worth of fluff.

I, for one, can believe that “Meth. We’re on it.” Had such a profound beneficial effect that it is no longer needed.

Now let’s get back to slaughtering badgers, coons, and skunks.

Seriously, folks, who thought we would get more than this from Kristi. She was a proven quantity before the election, a scoff-law, no-show rubber stamp.

Trump’s gal in SD contributes her part of Trump’s Saturday Night Massacre (Watergate) as Trump’s nuetered DOJ official said: “The department finds the [Flynn 7-9 year sentencing of Trump convicted advisor’s] recommendation extreme and excessive and disproportionate to [Roger “Watergate”] Stone’s offenses.

Later Tuesday, the department filed an updated sentencing recommendation that contradicted the reasoning laid out by line prosecutors and asserting that the initial guidance ‘could be considered excessive and unwarranted under the circumstances.’ The memorandum was signed by interim U.S. attorney for [Wm Barr’s brand new appointment] D.C. Timothy Shea and his criminal division supervisor, John Crabb.”

None of the four career attorneys who signed the first memo affixed their names to the second. https://m.stamfordadvocate.com/news/article/Justice-Dept-to-reduce-sentencing-recommendation-15047573.php

In fact some or all those four line prosecutors resigned, one wonders in protest to Barr’s unethical behavior as USAG.

It would be SO VALUABLE for state Democratic Party chairman Randy Seiler of lil old Ft Pierre to apply his decades of US Atty experience to guide SD away from the treasonous actions (non-statutory) has of MOSCOW John Thune, Trumpist Capitalist Mike Rounds, young clueless Dusty “NRA/Russian sniper rifle” Johnson and slow thinking trappeur Kristi Noem, enabling our 6 year old dictator.

Mr. Mark, do you believe that grudznick’s good friend and former blogger at the Madville Times, Mr. Fleming, should also pay back his millions in advertising cash? I think not.

The agency pitched an idea. Noem bought it. She is the one responsible. That money could have made a contribution to education, and roads and bridges. She is a bubblehead, but she does have the “R,” so she can continue to make stupid decisions and she will be re-elected anyway.

You’re right, Wayne. Nome can try to scrub the ad away, but it did it’s job, grabbing our attention, all too well. South Dakotans won’t forget what she wasted our money on.

Unfortunately, as Wayne notes, that branding error still won’t erase the even better branding that keeps Noem in office, that big R in front of her name.

Montana magat senator dreams of a gentler time when Montanans made and used their own meth, instead of the deadlier Mexican products.

Do these morons not proofread their comments before shoving all four feet in their mouths?
