SDSU Removes Identity Evropa’s White Supremacist Posters

Identity Evropa, one of the white supremacist groups that participated in the Charlottesville unrest in August, is up to its ugly tricks in South Dakota again. South Dakota State University reported on social media yesterday that the university discovered unauthorized posters from the white supremacist group around campus and “is actively taking them down.”

Even if an Identity Evropa rep applied for permission to post the group’s materials, SDSU would likely say, “No way,” since Identity Evropa’s hate speech likely constitutes harassment under the SDSU Student Conduct Code:

Harassment, as set forth in University Policy 4:4, which includes, but is not limited to the following:

  1. Conduct toward another person that has the purpose or effect of creating an objectively and subjectively intimidating, hostile, or demeaning environment that substantially interferes with the individual’s ability to participate in or to realize the intended benefits of a University activity or resource; and
  2. Other conduct that is extreme and outrageous, exceeding all bounds usually tolerated by polite society and that has the purpose or the substantial likelihood of interfering with another person’s ability to participate in or to realize the intended benefits of a University activity or resource [SDSU Student Code of Conduct, updated 2016.09.01].

These anonymous cowards sneaked around postering Black Hills State and Mines last winter. We must now be on the lookout for their litter in East River.

The SDSU Collegian posts photos of the white-supremacist posters and notes one identity-less, locationless Twitter troll who posted the photo. Identity Evropa’s new CEO Eli Mosley, also known as Elliot Kline, Tweeted back at SDSU yesterday, “That’s okay. We have plenty more. They’ll go right back up. White people have freedom of speech too..”

Mosley/Kline also Tweeted yesterday about the Las Vegas massacre that “it’s clear that the target was generally right wing white people….”

it’s clear that the target was generally right wing white people….”That is why the sniper only got 90 shots off in 10 seconds. He was asking for victims to id their politics before he shot them from long range. It could happen.

Sddp must standup and shine a spotlight on the republican sanctioned hate presenters in Sd

Leslie, last year I thought maybe we could let the immigration stuff slide and focus on real issues. But given the attacks these Republican-backed hate meetings are making on the Chamber of Commerce, Lutheran Social Services, and other decent South Dakotans who are doing honest work building our communities, I’m headed toward your position, that Democrats can stand for common decency and good business sense and accurately and effectively portray the Republicans as the insulting radicals threatening to damage our communities.
