The White House says Donald Trump “demonstrated his dedication to America’s heroes of tomorrow by announcing his second-quarter salary will be donated to the Department of Education.” That $100,000 donation will pay for a camp teaching kids about STEM careers. The camp does not yet exist, but Trump’s daughter Ivanka thinks it’s a good idea.

That $100,000 worth of dedication is 0.001% of the $9.2 billion that Trump has proposed cutting from the Department of Education. My daughter doesn’t have to become a scientist, engineer, or mathematician (though she might, despite our misogynist, anti-intellectual President) to tell you that $9.2 billion is greater than $100,000.
