Trump’s Impulsive Insults Show Unfitness for Presidency

Donald Trump’s vile and false tweets attacking TV morning news hosts Joe Scarborough and Mike Brzezinski prove that Donald Trump is a jerk who does not understand the decorum and dignity incumbent upon the President of the United States.

Scarborough and Brzezinski say Trump’s latest cyberbullying fit is part of a disturbing descent into erratic behavior by Trump:

We have known Mr. Trump for more than a decade and have some fond memories of our relationship together. But that hasn’t stopped us from criticizing his abhorrent behavior or worrying about his fitness. During the height of the 2016 presidential campaign, Joe often listened to Trump staff members complain about their boss’s erratic behavior, including a top campaign official who was as close to the Republican candidate as anyone.

We, too, have noticed a change in his behavior over the past few years. Perhaps that is why we were neither shocked nor insulted by the president’s personal attack. The Donald Trump we knew before the campaign was a flawed character but one who still seemed capable of keeping his worst instincts in check [Joe Scarborough and Mika Brezinski, “Donald Trump Is Not Well,” Washington Post, 2017.06.30].

At best, the White House is occupied by an immature bully who’s more worried about fighting the fire of TV commentators than fighting real dangers to national security. At worst, Trump’s impulsive Twitter outbursts demonstrate a lack of the mental composure necessary to effectively represent the United States on the world stage and make complicated, challenging policy decisions.

Relax Corey. The media and many others have been very unfair to President Trump.

  2. jerry 2017-06-30 11:27

trump is mentally unit to lead. Simple as that. Lie after lie, he tells, published by newsprint for the public to read and understand his sickness. Abnormal Psychology researchers, would have a field day with this loon. From his obsession with President Obama to his open disgust to women in general, are for all to see. trump needs ACA/Obamacare to treat his mental health issues as a pre existing condition.

Unfair to Drumpf? Hope you don’t plan on giving up yer day job to become a comedian.

All tweets from the twit are saved as presidential communications. I figure wingnuts in congress will allow them to be destroyed to protect the party’s image.

Drumpf and Scarburro got into it on twitter today. Drumpf made statements that Scarburro sez are demonstrably false.

Whats good for the goose is good for the gander.

Just think if he’d be boinking interns in the oval office, the gasps that would bring about decorum and dignity of the office.

  5. Chuck-Z 2017-06-30 11:49

Perhaps someone well rehearsed in sex trafficking might recognize the problems here and speak out? It would be especially powerful if that person was from South Dakota, and issued a public statement!

I was all for Clinton’s impeachment. But we’re not rehashing the 1990s. We’re talking right here, right now. Trump’s indiscretions stand on their own.

  7. mike from iowa 2017-06-30 12:16

Wingnuts are whining about the time these investigations into Drumpf’s crimes are taking. Lead, of course, by the moron dirtbag in the WH- who is the problem no wingnuts want to address.

Time usage wasn’t a problem when HRC was the end game.

Who is left for Trump to attack on Twitter?
Will he now stay up all night scrolling Twitter and direct his hate and anger toward individual citizens that post negative tweets about him?
Sam@, “the media and many others have been unfair to President Trump”.
This president has been attacking the media and individual journalists since he started his campaign and yet you believe the media has been unfair to him.
Besides this recent Twitter war with the MSNBC hosts his most recent attacks on the media, and by extension the public, has virtually shutdown the White House press corps by not allowing live press conferences, audio and video recordings, and photographs.
The larger problem here is that Trump is dominating the news with this tripe and distracting from the business of the country including the investigation of his collusion with the Russians to win the 2016 presidency.
If I have any fault with the media, it is that they allow Trump to make Fake News headlines.

  9. Greg 2017-06-30 12:18

The war between Trump and the media is greatly damaging the United States. Congress could put a stop to this BS if they would go do their job.

  10. Roger Cornelius 2017-06-30 12:24

Deplorable Greg reminds us of the irrelevancy of the Clinton sex scandal while failing to mention the 25 or so women that came forward with reports of “grab ’em by the pu**y” sexual assaults, including that of a 13 year old girl that was too frightened to come forward.

  11. Roger Cornelius 2017-06-30 12:26

It is not within the province of the congress to put a stop to this BS, at least that is if you don’t believe in the First Amendment.

  12. Cory Allen Heidelberger Post author | 2017-06-30 12:30

Sam@—what? unfair? How? Is this post unfair? Is it unfair to say that Trump’s tweets about “psycho” Joe and “bleeding” Mike ill-befit the President of the United States?

Is it unfair to state that an inability or an unwillingness to refrain from crude, arguably libelous insults in response to criticism suggests a mental state unsuitable for upper-level management positions in the public spotlight?

  13. Cory Allen Heidelberger Post author | 2017-06-30 12:31

Chuck-Z, I get the impression you’re baiting our Congresswoman. You naughty boy. ;-)

  14. Cory Allen Heidelberger Post author | 2017-06-30 12:33

Roger explains well the problem with the President shutting down media access to the most important office in the country. The press is not the enemy. The President needs to govern, not wage a perpetual Breitbart campaign.

By the way, Roger, Donald Trump hasn’t attacked me personally on Twitter yet. I’ll keep angling for that honor. :-D

  15. Roger Cornelius 2017-06-30 12:39

    Cory,
Remember Nixon’s Watergate enemies list? There were many disappointed people that weren’t on it and wanted to be.
Let’s hope that you eventually make Trump’s enemies list, what an honor!

  16. jerry 2017-06-30 12:43

cult republicans will do anything to keep the public from knowing the truth about Russian involvement in our elections, to include allowing a mentally unstable man control of the country to ram their agenda’s through.

Black outs of the media for press conferences, Russian. Calling all news, fake news, Russian. Blackmailing news outlets, Russian. Cult republicans do not want to acknowledge the bear in the room as what it is, the Russian bear.

  17. jerry 2017-06-30 12:47

BTW, “boinking interns” is what we have a problem with here in South Dakota. Clinton was impeached for lying about it. Here, not to much to worry about as the fellow legislators kind of like to keep it among themselves, with few exceptions.

  18. Roger Cornelius 2017-06-30 13:11

Bill Clinton was never accused of boinking interns.

  19. jerry 2017-06-30 18:05

I stand corrected Roger, you are correct. He was never accused of grabbing anything either. He got in trouble for lying and impeached for it. trump has never uttered a phrase without a lie in it so where to start with the guy. He may well have overstepped his little hand reach on this one though. He sold us out to the Russians, but is getting taken to the woodshed on the blackmail. How fitting that our intelligence said that he would be ripe for blackmail, little did they know it would be he who would be doing the blackmail. Life is funny like that.

Since a long time ago, anti-Trumpers have been trying to tell Trumpers that their Mr. Wonderful is really just a sorry excuse for human being.

How many more disgusting butt-faced tweets need to take place before the deplorables pick themselves up by their moral bootstraps?

  21. jerry 2017-06-30 21:05

From the sound of the comrade Greg, it may take reading Sputnik news out of Washington. What, jerry, say it ain’t so. The Russians launched Sputnik news out of Washington, now.

  22. Porter Lansing 2017-06-30 21:07

Right, Adam. They’re still telling us we lost because our meritocracy doesn’t recognize the contributions of unskilled voters. Trump can do wrong.

  23. Adam 2017-06-30 22:48

70-80% of Republicans have now completely forfeited every scrap of integrity they once had – in trade for loyalty to this psychopathic phony President.

Does supporting psycopathic behavior make Trumpers psychopaths [scientifically]? I think it might.

  24. Adam 2017-06-30 22:51

Is there such a thing as a complicit psychopath (someone who may not be a psychopath but fully supports the psychopathic behavior of another)?

  25. grudznick 2017-06-30 22:55

Mr. Adam, I do hope you are not referring to me and Mr. Sibby.

  26. Adam 2017-06-30 23:14

I think Trump still tickles a lot of conservative fancy. I don’t believe any of you when you say you didn’t vote for him. I blame conservative voters for every ounce of wreckage this phony bastard leaves behind.

Grudz, most all of you have been complicit with his psycopathy at one time or another.

Believe them Adam, in Rapid City and Sioux Falls, the voting tabulators, ESS, model DS850’s are hackable. Pennington has always run with the security system disabled.

  29. jerry 2017-07-01 14:57

trump is proving he is an old fart by shouting at the tee vee with his little twitter. He has hollered at the Secret Service too, “Hey you kids, get off the lawn”

  30. leslie 2017-07-01 17:09

sam@-8 years of unfair virulence. Gorsuch. unfair?…hahahahah

  31. Scott 2017-07-02 09:58

We all need to contact our 3 State leaders and ask them if they believe they are Christians, as any one who stands behind the lying bigot they elected is truly not a Christian. What does it say about there own state of mind . ?

  32. jerry 2017-07-02 10:08

trump thinks he is still on Apprentice. He is looking for the ratings and he has them, negative. In the meantime, he entertains us with his Three Stooges antics http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/trump-tweets-video-attacking-cnn-logo-figure

There were actually at least four Stooges. So I can be confident that Thune/Rounds and NOem are the others. What a boatload of nitwits. South Dakota, stand proud. Our congress goof offs have replaced Meatloaf and Gary Busey. I nominate Rounds as Meatloaf and Thune as Busey. gwhahaha

Trump and the Art of Fake Sanity.

  34. mike from iowa 2017-07-02 13:42

Meatloaf actually has talent and can sweat with the best of them. No need to insult an American icon.

  35. jerry 2017-07-02 20:21

    O’beautiful, for spacious skies
But now those skies are threatening
    They’re beating plowshares into swords
For this tired old man that we elected king
    Armchair warriors often fail
And we’ve been poisoned by these fairy tales
The lawyers clean up all details
    Since daddy had to lie

Thanks Bruce Horsby and Don Henley for a song that is as fitting today as it was when written all those years ago.

Hmm… what if, instead of contacting our three state GOP leaders as Scott suggests, I just redid the Trump bodyslam video, superimposing my face over Trump’s and John’s, Mike’s, or Kristi’s face over the CNN logo (which, I can only assume, Trump had edited onto his video by someone working for the taxpayers). How would you commenters view such a video by me?

    Jerry, I love that song.
