Aberdeen Xenophobes Invite New Zealander to Conduct McCarthyite Witch Hunt

Did somebody say “witch hunt“?

While Donald Trump demonstrates his reflexive ignorance of the term, his Aberdeen acolytes are hosting a genuine example of a witch hunt:

Accusing members of Congress of communism, socialism, and un-American activities—yeah, that pretty much defines a McCarthyite witch hunt.

My neighbors will dismiss South Dakota natives Tom Daschle, Stephanie Herseth SandlinMatt Varilek, and Corinna Robinson for spending too much time out of the state. They’ll call me a carpetbagger for wanting to get involved in local politics. But they’ll put the spotlight on a New Zealander to come tell them that their own American politicians aren’t really American.

Someone has clearly cast a spell over my neighbors… and the spell-caster ain’t Karl Marx.

Bonus: Loudon peddles the notion that the collapse of the Soviet Union was a boost for Communism and part of their attack.

Ol Trev thinks the solution to all of our problems is…Ted Cruz. Nigel Farge came from the UK to help get trump elected, so why not have this thing come from New Zealand to do the same for Ted Cruz. It is all part of the Tory conspiracy for England to rise again to take the American colony back under her wing. http://www.rightwingwatch.org/post/trevor-loudon-only-ted-cruz-can-save-america-from-the-marxists-in-government/

Quick question, as the republicans dominate the state house here in South Dakota, which ones are the republican Marxists, are they all? At the federal level, we have three congress folks, are all three republican Marxists? Whoever goes to hear this foreigner will now be considered Marxists as we are a red state, just following the russian ideology that we now live with, comrades.

Somebody needs to explain to these America First boneheads that Aberdeen’s economy is heavily dependent on Northern State University, which has a large number of foreign students and faculty and which works to attract and recruit the same, especially in the sciences. Making them feel unwelcome and creating an atmosphere of hostility and discrimination, therefore, is not only immoral, cruel and wrong, it is economically damaging.

Way back in the early 70’s, my stepdad taught at Northern when I was a young child. He and my mom befriended one of his colleagues, a science professor who was from China and who’d brought his wife and toddler son with him from China. I remember them patiently trying to teach me to eat with chopsticks and how we all laughed good-naturedly at my fumbling attempts. Mom told me that they talked about how surprised they were to be generally treated decently and not feeling too unwelcome even though, at that time, there were very few Asian residents. Sure, there were some issues, but they generally didn’t have too much of a problem. But contrast that with the hateful crap going on now in Aberdeen and it’s really discouraging.

And I wonder if they’re bee-yatching about “socialism” and “progressives” while cashing their social security checks and handing their Medicare cards to their doctors or doing so for their parents.

What’s funny is that Loudon doesn’t seem to mention comrade Trump or Trump campaign officials cavorting with the Russians. That doesn’t fit his narrative as well as plainly making up stuff about Barack Obama.

When Trump is outside the country is he no longer the enemy within? Is he then the enemy without? So many questions . . .

Darin, bingo. The locals would apparently rather listen to reheated Cold War fantasies about imagined devils than about the clear and present danger of foreign influence posed by their President.

Jerry, your sly question about Republican Marxists gets me thinking: it would be far more profitable for my neighbors to recruit a local expert to talk about the South Dakota Legislature and analyze the ideological leanings of Novstrup, Dennert, Kaiser, the Greenfields, and other elected officials among us. Instead, they play this national-level Beck/Lewin/Limbaugh karaoke… just because there’s a paycheck in it for yet another traveling medicine man, who can repeat the same fog-and-phony show in third-rate ballrooms across the country.

And Jerry, that’s a good article about Clarkston. But of course, they’re probably a bunch of Marxists, indoctrinating all those new arrivals before sending them off to their missions around the country to foment further revolution. Shhh…. ;-)

It’s hate porn, Cory. Might as well put a brass pole on the stage. They’re no better than those who spend money to watch strippers.

And, their twisted minds derive nearly as much deviant pleasure from us criticizing them for it. It’s a twisted mental justification shuffle they play with our displeasure providing the hair shirt and public, self-flagellation.

Exactly Laurisa and these same Aberdonians are prancing on down to their Catholic Church each week and genuflecting to Jesus and God all the while as they spread their anti-immigration beliefs. Go to confession, SD Catholics, you’re promoting hate. Being pro-immigration is one of the Social Teachings of the Church. EVERY HUMAN BEING IS SACRED BECAUSE LIFE IS SACRED.
Get the hell out of Catholicism if you’re not going to follow its teachings.
