South Dakotan Receives Questionable Fundraising Call from “Progressive Priorities PAC”

A West River neighbor reports receiving two robocalls from the Progressive Priorities PAC. My correspondent says the called played a quote from Barack Obama and asked for $200. When she punched through to the human, she got some unsatisfactory answers.

Unsatisfactory is understandable if the call was indeed from Progressive Priorities PAC. CNN cites various sources noting that Progressive Priorities PAC is connected to the Liberty Action Group, which tried to raise money on Trump’s name last year but has not reported giving money to any candidates.

According to public filings reviewed by CNN’s KFile, the group made no direct donations to the Trump campaign nor is there any indication the group contributed in other ways to Trump’s election effort. The Sunlight Foundation, a nonpartisan nonprofit that advocates for transparency in government, described Liberty Action Group as an “extremely shady PAC” last year.

Now, the individuals behind Liberty Action Group have turned their attention to the progressive movement, soliciting donations for a different group, Progressive Priorities PAC. Several people have reported receiving phone calls in the past month from Progressive Priorities PAC that play a recording of former President Barack Obama followed by a request to contribute to “help Obama impeach Trump.”

FEC records for Progressive Priorities PAC, which also ran radio ads soliciting donations during the 2016 Democratic primary, reveal it has never directly contributed to any candidate or cause.

Progressive Priorities PAC smells like Annette Bosworth’s 2014 money scheme. Obama fans, don’t fall for it!

Thanks Cory for getting the word out.

Wow. I’ve suspected this kind of crap would one day further muddy the waters in/of our political system.

It’s so very GD easy to mouth the words that conservative voters want to hear. Conversely, scammers all end up learning the hard way that Democrats think a lot more about everything – to the point where we are hard-enough to scam that, for the most part, it’s not profitable.

Fake news producers learned pretty quickly to limit most of their targeting to conservative demographics.

It takes a REAL SUCKER to buy into the idea that Donald Trump might actually be [despite the obvious] a good and decent human-being.
