Club for Growth Asks Noem Simple Question: Do You Support Border Adjustment Tax?

On Tuesday, gubernatorial candidate Kristi Noem poked her GOP primary opponent Marty Jackley with a plea to U.S.A.G. Sessions to send in the feds to solve all the South Dakota crimes S.D.A.G. Jackley has apparently let explode.

Now Jackley gets a free poke back, in the form of a $150K TV and digital campaign  pushing Noem to oppose the border adjustment tax:

“Kristi Noem refuses to take a stand…” and in her Facebook response continues to refuse to say whether she’ll back a Trumpy import tax that could revisit the good old Smoot-Hawley days:

Well, I’m thrilled to hear Kristi Noem dismiss the rich conservatives at the Club for Growth as “out of state special interests.” But what if South Dakotans like me ask you about the border adjustment tax, Kristi? Do you support a tax that will raise $1 trillion, largely on the backs of consumers paying higher prices for retail goods, to fund tax breaks for corporations?

Meanwhile, Club for Growth, keep those ads coming! We primary watchers (and A.G. Jackley) love ’em!

I would ask, when are you gonna repeal ACA/Obamacare? I expect you to keep your word. Were you lying when you said you had a replacement plan then or is it now? Is your whole reason for being a politician is just so you can lie? As your constituent, I have certain expectations and one of them is to tell the truth. Why would I hire a known liar to be the governor of my state? Do your job, repeal or replace ACA/Obamacare.

I would ask, will you support Congressman Issa from California’s request for a special prosecutor, with AG Sessions to recuse himself as well as his lieutenants, regarding Russian involvement in our election process? Here is what Issa said publicly, will you support the special prosecutor? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOVXjnTcDOA

Oh no, Kristi is being targeted by … a conservative group? What a pity. Poor, poor Kristi.

Gee, Jerry, don’t put so much pressure on our “so-called” representative. Give her a chance to check with the House leadership to see what she should say! I’m sure she will respond when she gets the daily talking points. ;-)

Oh Kristi use some of those farm subsidies and fight back.

  6. jerry 2017-02-25 11:15

You are correct Loren. Where are the jobs and why do you support killing employment, is what I should have asked her to respond to. For a regime that lied to South Dakotan’s and the rest of the country with the promise of jobs, why are they eliminating them? http://inthesetimes.com/working/entry/19917/federal_hiring_freeze_to_hit_rural_and_minority_communities_the_hardest

Why would you eliminate jobs that hire veterans that actually work in the Veterans Administration in South Dakota? We already are short some cardiologists at Fort Meade because of this, why does NOem hate veterans in our state?

This import tax is exactly what trump and Sanders did so well on because it will bring the jobs back. Conservatives did not like bringing the jobs back in this method because it does not help the rich and it would raise wages for the worker, who is exactly who voted for Trump and Sanders to do this. This is the main issue in the last election and the main reason people would vote for a jerk like Trump because in this way he could bring the jobs back. If they do not do this the whole election will have been ignored by the elitists who got to greedy to remember the worker.
How could someone for growth ever be against bringing our jobs back? This is how politics gets such a twisted reputation.

What jobs are we gonna bring back Mr. Elgersma? Picking oranges, or apples? Do you think Americans will demand an end to the robots that have made cars much better than the old rust buckets we drove in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s? Those turkeys got 30,000 miles on them and smoked like the new ones do at 230,000 miles. At 50,000 miles, they were in the junk yards.

Even by getting rid of the EPA so the pollution of waters and land can go without a hitch, those old factories would take trillions to put back on line so we could make stuff to compete with China. How in the hell would that all work with isolation. We even outsource military hardware. There is a solution though to NOem’s Club for Growth questions, make like North Korea and really get into the economic nationalism. Hell ya, get those Kim hair cuts and get’r done. We could condemn Adidas and put workers making sneakers by hand instead of the way they are doing it now http://www.economist.com/news/business/21714394-making-trainers-robots-and-3d-printers-adidass-high-tech-factory-brings-production-back

Kristi sells herself for money. At her very best, she ain’t nothin’ but a pretty face. She is Trump for Governor.

Gosh, I just really wish we had a Dem running in that primary race. Let’s just say Kristi and Marty split the vote, that would equal approx 13% of total registered R voters voting for one or the other.

Now imagine all D and I voters temporarily registering R to vote for the better 3rd candidate in that R primary.

Ds and Is could actually take over the SDGOP with this math.

Congressional Republicans need to dig deep, scrape up what integrity they have left, and come out for or against their chosen leader. If they don’t we need to start demanding it. Especially for our own. As 2018 and 2020 elections draw closer, this will become more and more important. When he is proven without a doubt to be a fraud is too late. We need to know now.

Ryan Owens investigation should be asked of NOem as well. Do you support the independent investigation of the failed Yemen raid that killed this American fighting man? Do your support the investigation into that raid that lost somewhere north of 100 million dollars in taxpayer paid equipment? How can we have growth when these folks are sent on a compromised mission? http://www.miamiherald.com/news/politics-government/article135064074.html

Forget that, Adam! Let the GOP pick the worse of its two; our D will have an easier time beating him or her than some better Republican boosted by our undercover intelligent choices in their primary.

Jerry, we had Mexicans pick fruit before NAFTA, but lots of factories shut down after NAFTA. We could get manufacturing back and also wages would rise because when the factory could go overseas the unions had a choice of not striking or the factory would leave. Even if not many came back, they would quit leaving. White guys were on waiting lists to get jobs in Morrell’s in Sioux Falls before the wages went down. now white guys think those jobs are bad because it is hard to make a living on them.

  15. jerry 2017-02-27 11:47

Not the Mexicans fault, Wall Street did it because each of these companies must show growth for the investors, even when it is a false reading. Trump can cancel Nafta and it will not mean a damn thing with jobs here because our jobs are as outdated as trump is. Tossing 56 billion into the military so we don’t loose and then loosing the jobs in the EPA and healthcare industry does not sound to me like winning. If NOem and the other two dingalings keep at it, they will succeed in showing us how to get that winning to over 25% unemployment.

On top of that, we will have fruit that is unfit to eat because of pollutants. How do you like your crap sandwich prepared, over easy or well done?

I’m not gonna forget it as I am not a looser. SD Dem for Governor is a more sure looser than any other gubernatorial race in the country – has been for decades.

Change the game or keep on loosing – and just go ahead and be cool with that. What would it take for SD Dems to get on board with a one party system and while never giving up?

Take the cheat sheet off the ballot and R voters become LOST and disengaged. Failure to acknowledge this fact leads to Dems staying losers forever out in rural crazy land.
