Aberdeen HS Dems Cheer State and Local Candidates

While the Republican Party teeters toward a critical mass of acknowledgment that they messed up, I found these Aberdeen High School Democrats having no trouble showing pride in their statewide and local Democratic ticket at State and 6th this afternoon:

Honk if you love Briscoe, Bootz, Heidelberger... and young Democrats!
Honk if you love Briscoe, Bootz, Heidelberger… and young Democrats!
At the moment, these young Dems are more fired up for Jay Williams, Paula Hawks, and me than they are for that fried chicken whose sizzling aroma wafts across State from Kesslers. But then these young Democrats are anything but chicken.

Note the clever repurposing of the Hawks yard sign.

When I checked in with the Democratic demonstrators early in their action, they reported all positive responses from passing motorists—no jeers or flipped birds, just friendly waves and honks. Hooray for some friendly exercise of the First Amendment… and for young Democrats spreading the good word!

Mr. H, I like you parked your contraption bike near them with the painted fenders showing. I bet you are known by nearly everybody in Aberdeen as the guy who rides around like that. Mr. Novstrup, the elder Almanzo one, likely does not do that and you are for sure gaining on him in being talked about.

Awesome to see! That intersection is crucial in Aberdeen, as that signal has auditory signal technology, since the SD School of Blind is to the south of 6th Ave.

M86, those auditory signals at that intersection are important. I’m surprised we don’t have more such signals on 6th. (While I’m thinking of it, we could use a couple more controlled crosswalks in town, on 6th between Lawson and Roosevelt, and on Melgaard at Lawson and the high school!)

Grudz, visibility and name recognition matter for all candidates. Motion and real people waving signs raise visibility better than any static sign. (Your other personal observations on the sign wavers were inaccurate, irrelevant, and rude and thus have been deleted. Stick with the issues.)
