Can Thune match Mike Myers in pushups? Bet not!

  2. mike from iowa 2016-06-06 15:02

22 pushups-that is one for every four days of work the Senate has scheduled for the entire year. That is less than half the number of times wingnuts voted to defund Obamacare.

That is one pushup for every $7909.090909 dollars Thune gets in salary. That is $174000 more than he is worth as a senator. It is also equovalent to 15.8 years of Social Security for me. I hope he can live on that much for a year.

I’m so glad that the taxpayers provide a gym, equipment, and healthcare to these folks to stay in such great shape!

But then when it comes to helping others out , specifically with healthcare? NOPE!

So is Thune competing with Paul Ryan and Aaron Schock for posting body shots? Hmmmm

As a Republican Senate leader and as a Trump supporter Senator Thune must be feeling conflicted. Should he dump on the Judge as Trump demands or will he lead and support the judiciary?

As a 4th generation Norwegian American I know that I would worry if my case was assigned to a Swedish American Judge.

ITS ALL ABOUT ME AND NOT ABOUT YOU.That would be a great Thune campaign slogan.

I, for one, look forward to Mr. H and Mr. Novstrup debating in these muscle shirts.

“We have a great agenda and lots of things to talk about,” said Sen. John Thune (R-SD). “And so if you’re spending all your time addressing what your nominee’s latest statements are then it’s not a good place to be.”

    It speaks.

Grudz: if invited to a tank-top debate, I vow to go Hulkamaniac and tear my shirt off. Expect swooning. :-D

An athlete like John Thune is always looking to improve lung capacity – to blow as much hot air as it takes to sell GOP bulls— to very decent people.

Lung capacity: maybe I should challenge John Thune to a debate conducted while we run a 10K.

I’m a little saddened that there have been 14 comments preceding mine and not a one of them has bothered to commend Senator Thune for his symbolic act. The 22 Pushups challenge is meant to raise awareness for veteran suicide prevention, because approximately 22 veterans commit suicide each and every day.

This challenge is something that millions of Americans can participate in to help spread the word even when those same people may not be in a position to have a direct impact. It is an important issue, and although Congressional action would have more of a lasting impact, anything that can raise awareness should be commended.

Yet I’m presented with nothing more than cynicism and mockery. It isn’t a secret that I’m no fan of Senator Thune, and I’ll concede his actions on the Senate floor will have a more significant impact upon our veterans than some pushups, but if he is able to spread the word and perhaps get a few others involved then this is a good thing.

Many of these comments leave me feeling that we are so divided that we can’t even acknowledge when a political opponent does the right thing – and that saddens me.

Cory and all other teachers- since wingnuts claim you only work 9 months of the year you can all become senators and spend the other three months doing nothing in D.C. just like you are accused of now-just that D.C. pays better.

Sen. Thune obviously spends more time maintaining his fitness than the senate spends in session.

I was wondering what stunt Sen. Thune would do next for his audition to be Trump’s VP. Now we know. Showing off his muscles in a symbolic salute to veterans. He sure is a poser.

did thune emphasize the 22 military suicides on facebook? the photo does not seem to emphasize that.
