Out-State Complaint Against Hickey Petition Dredges up SDGOP Blog’s Journalistic Failure

Point of journalist’s privilege:

Pat Powers responds to Floridian political adventurist Peter Waldron’s formal request that Secretary of State Shantel Krebs investigate Rep. Steve Hickey’s alleged 2012 petition perjury by properly pointing out that Waldron is known for filing election complaints based on false information. But Powers goes on to say that any investigation of Hickey may have to wait for an investigation of convicted felon Annette Bosworth’s husband, Chad Haber:

But, Howie & Waldron might have to stand in line, because the Attorney General already has a pending petition matter on his plate.   No, not Annette Bosworth. That one is almost done. I’m referring to her husband, Chad Haber.

If you recall what I wrote about it back in August of 2014— [Pat Powers, “Floridian Peter Waldron files complaint against State Rep. Steve Hickey. But shouldn’t the AG finish the petition investigation already on his plate first?Dakota War College, 2015.06.04]

Stop right there. Powers portrays the Haber perjury as his discovery. But his headlines are much longer than his memory. Readers of this blog identified Haber’s perjury—signing the circulator’s oath on a petition sheet that he could not have witnessed—on sheet #44 of his wife’s petition packet during our petition review last year. I included the evidence of that perjury in my affidavit to Secretary of State Jason Gant on April 1, 2014. I laid out the concise case for perjury against Bosworth, which is equally applicable to Haber, on April 3, 2014. Powers, still in the throes of his utilitarian affection for Bosworth and Haber, didn’t just ignore that evidence and legal argument. He yawned at that evidence, focused on and made excuses for Bosworth’s false attacks on me in response to that challenge, and said my complaint was just a mean-spirited effort to “destroy the lives of the Bosworth family.”

Yet now Powers cites that same evidence as his own discovery and reason to poo-poo an electoral complaint filed by a Bosworth ally.

Journalistic integrity, thy name is not Pat.

p.s.: Mr. Waldron, I look forward to your filing a similar complaint against Chad Haber to support the complaint that I filed in April 2014. Welcome to the party.

Powers was lukewarm on Bosworth until her kool-aid drinking followers started accusing Powers of condoning child rape, spoke of vile and filthy acts done onto Powers wife and children. Then he changed this tune. He was a few months late to the petitiongate party.

Dale, is that what triggered PP’s turn? I thought it was when she started talking hard smack about his GOP patrons. PP’s turn was personal, not political?

I should have saved some of the comments on twitter and DWC. I don’t know why anyone would associate themselves with the Bosworth kool-aid brigade after that. Actually now that I think about it I might have saved a few of them. I will check later tonight.

I’m no fan of Powers or DWC but he basically said the Mette harassment was his pivot point in the comment section of his blog.

From all appearances, Steve Hickey seems to be an astute politician.

Hopefully he will follow his lawyers advice and not talk publicly about this complaint and above all not follow the pattern of self-destruction that Bosworth and her well meaning, but irrational, followers have chosen.

If Bosworth were true to her to word about “leadership taking responsibility”, she would not be in this mess at all.

Had she any leadership abilities she would have gone into full damage control, wrote the SoS and AG and asked that those petitions not be counted and than hoped for the best.

But no, she let her ego lead with the support of incompetent and misguided campaign advice, choosing to fight an unwinnable war.

Bosworth has been given more chances than anyone in her position should have.

Sometimes punishment is an opportunity, an opportunity to correct behavior and to learn.

Who started the circus on Bosworth. The 2 hit men CAH and SH. They filed the complaint and CAH had a heyday obsessing about her on his blog while Mike Rounds cruised to a big win.

Pat Powers and label Journalist don’t belong together — period.

Tara, the Bosworth Circus was rolling pretty well with Chad and Annette driving the clown car and making up their own rules of the road as they grifted along. Sorry you bought into the cray-cray.

As Jackilope says, I didn’t create the crazy show, I just reported it, like a good journalist, while Pat ignored the story until it served his petty personal purposes.

Cory and SH drew first blood, now it’s already come back on Steve Hickey. There are now people behind the scenes that will be outing some of these people on this blog. Cory, you know who is after you…….She happens to be a Woman with over 15,000 twitter followers. Be careful because she does not like bullies.

You must be quite scared of her because you have her blocked.

    What is Not Tara-bait lately?

I know! I know! The Belmont Stakes Saturday! If American Pharoah wins, that will be the first horse racing Triple Crown since Seattle Slew in 1978. Woo-hoo!
