Hey, Brown County neighbors! Do you want to be a Democratic Party officer? Now’s your chance!
The Brown County Democrats meet Thursday evening, 7 p.m. at the Eagles Club (downtown Aberdeen, 316 S. 2nd St.) to elect their county central committee officers. The District 1 delegation—Senator Jason Frerichs, Rep. Dennis Feickert, and Rep. Steven McCleery—will also report on the achievements of lack thereof of the 2015 Legislature.
No word on whether the subject of referring SB 69 and SB 177 is on the agenda… but it should be!
While a discussion of referral is not on the formal agenda, I expect it to come up during the Q&A with our speakers. I hope anyone interested in a referral will attend this meeting and help us get the ball rolling.

Is Deb Knecht involved? Or any of the Stratford area Hansens? There is a Hanson in the Houghton area who’s an active Democrat. Or he was in 2000. He might be about 70 now and I can’t remember his first name.
I think Deb is still in Arizona, but coming back soon. I’ll watch for the Hansens! But alas, I’ll miss tonight’s meeting because I’ll be at the Dems fundraiser at Prairie Edge in Rapid City. I’ll be getting a good shot of Joe Lowe!
